Durham Region Writing Rainbow (DRWR) brings 2SLGBTQIA youth together to build community through a shared love of writing. We have a drop-in writing group once a week where we can connect and create in a supportive peer-led space. We also make zines, host events to perform and celebrate our stories, do writing workshops, and have guest speakers.

PLEASE NOTE: DRWR HAS BEEN ON HIATUS SINCE MARCH 2020. 

We aren’t sure if we’re coming back, but this website will stick around in case we do.

Our previous meeting space was graciously donated by our community partner, the Pickering Public Library. We are also former grantees of a Youth Opportunities Fund grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and former mentees of the AIDS Committee of Durham Region.

DRWR was possible thanks to the amazing energy of the youth who make up the group. Hopefully it will be again someday. We love you weirdos.
